Happy New Year

I hope that all of you guys had a great time ushering in the new year last night. Our night was both fun and exciting. To start we went to a friends' apartment to have a pot luck dinner, we brought a delicious pie that Jodee made if you were wondering. The dinner was fun and we enjoyed the people. Next we all went to Block 8, a group of eight nicer clubs and restaurants where there was a festive atmosphere complete with people on stilts, fire dancers and fire works attached to humongous champagne bottles. We were there for only an hour or so and it was time for the count down. They dimmed the lights, had a big screen counting down and then BAM, the new year was rung in with fountain fire works all over the stage area. Before we knew what happened the lights were out and the fire sprinklers were on. We were lucky enough not to be caught in the area of the deluge. We gave it about 15 minutes, but the water was up to a couple of inches by then so we took off. All in all it was a fun and memorable new years. Today has been just a nice relaxing day, we made it to the cotton market to get fitted for a coat for me, it is so cold here, and pick one up for Jodee. Other than that we have been bums all day. We are both very exited for our friends to get back to town from the holiday break; there is a mass exodus of expats to there home country for Christmas here. I think that is all of the exciting news we have for now, more soon.
